Guatemala City / Quinta Real

We hardly saw anything of Guatemala City--the airport, the hotel, and the highway out of town. We decided to splurge a little for our first and last nights in Guatemala and stayed at the Quinta Real Hotel, luxury accomodations to say the least. At $89 US per night, it was only slightly more than the going rate for mid-range hotels in the US. We did feel a little underdressed and out of our element in these swanky surroundings but we coped.
