California Coast - 4/2 to 4/3

We left Brookings, OR for Crescent City, CA in the rain which was no big surprise. It rained the majority of the drive down the coast. We stopped just south of Crescent City and watched the pounding surf. The waves were huge and it was a lot of fun to watch. We headed down past a life-sized Paul Bunyan and Babe into a grove of redwoods in one of California's state parks. Of course pictures can't do these giants justice but you just have to try and take them anyway. I pieced together a couple of shots using Photoshop (you can clearly see the break between the pictures.) We stopped in Fort Bragg for the night and then continued down the coast stopping in Mencondino and a few other small towns. We pulled over and saw a school of whales and a pair of dolphins, too, which was quite exciting. Then it was on to San Francisco and dinner with Aaron. We only stayed that one night, unfortunately, but we didn't want to spend the weekend there so we got up earlier and drove to Yosemite the next morning.
